Bright Idea: Recycled Magnetic Pen Holder

Hi Friends!

I’m excited to be a part of this month’s bright idea blog hop!

bright ideas

I’m bringing back an oldie but a goodie. Keep reading to find out how to make a magnetic pen holder. You could easy put it on your metal desk, a dry erase board, or other magnetic surfaces at school. It’s a great way to keep markers and pens handy. You could also have your students make these as well!

It’s super easy, super handy, and super cute!

I must confess that I didn’t come up with the idea myself. I found it here. Since there weren’t any step by step directions, I decided to create a step-by-step tutorial. Thank you to Shelly from Sow and Dipty for coming up with such a FAB idea!

Okay, so here’s what you need:

TPSupplies

Toilet paper roll (empty of course)

Cute scrapbook paper

Scissors

Tape

Magnet

First, get your roll of toilet paper.

TPStep1

Cut a strip of your scrapbook paper that is the same size as your roll and wrap it around.

TPStep2

Next, fold in the bottom of the roll like this and tape it shut.

TPStep3

You should now have something that looks like this.

TPStep4

Now, just tape a magnet to the back. Make sure your magnet is pretty strong.

TPStep5

Add some pens and place on whatever surface you want, and you’re done!

TPStep6

Now you can keep your pens and markers right where you need them!
