The Umbrella is such a great book to inspire your budding inquirers. The beautiful illustrations paired with the interesting story are sure to be a hit. When Carlos drops his umbrella trying to get a closer look at the animals, the animals begin to use his umbrella to get out of the rain. This one is sure to spark lots of great discussions.
The There Was an Old Lady Series enjoys a happy place in my inquirer book basket. These silly books spark lots of questions and curiosity. They also encourage a lot of what if talks. Students love guessing what the old lady will make with the silly things she swallows at the end of the book.
Rosie Revere Engineer is the perfect book for introducing the learner profile trait of being an inquirer. Rosie is an aspiring engineer who, thanks to some past criticism, hides her passion away. However, her great aunt inspires her to share her creation with the world. In the process, she learns a valuable lesson about the process of creating, inquiring, and making mistakes.
Beautiful Oops! is a lovely book about how it’s okay to make mistakes. As the saying goes, mistakes are proof that you are trying! This book celebrates turning mistakes into something else.
