How to Use
Just print out the center(s) you’d like to use, laminate the bowling sheet, copy the recording sheets, add mini bowling pins (available at the Dollar Tree or on Amazon), toilet paper rolls, small cups work as well, and you’re ready to go!
These centers will require a short modeling lesson before your students get to work. There is a specific recording sheet for each group of sight words, and all major sight words are included. The Dolch list has 5 per sheet, and the Fry list has 10 (because there are so many sight words). There is also an editable version, so you can use whatever sight words you want, or could even put in spelling words for the week!
At the end of the pack, there are also additional recording sheets that can be used and add extra practice to the centers. These pages allow students to write the words they knock over instead of color, graph the words, ABC order practice, sentence & paragraph writing practice, and illustrating sight words.
The editable file is also found in the ZIP folder and is very easy to use. Just type in one word for each letter (a, b, c ect) and it will automatically fill in the rest of the blanks.
These centers work very well in partners, and are a great opportunity for students to practice taking turns.
