Are you reviewing letter sounds and letter formation at the beginning of first grade? Use this student book to review each single letter sound and letter formation in a guided practice setting. This is a great way to combine the importance of phonics in conjunction with the science of reading with letter formation skills!
This resource includes:
– how to use guide
– a book cover
– one page for each single letter of the alphabet with picture cues (version 1)
– one page for each single letter of the alphabet WITHOUT picture cues (version 2)
– an alternate version of Q for each version with only the letter q (the original versions include u with u- qu
On each page, students will look at the letter and then review the sound the letter makes (with either the provided picture cue or one you add together).
Then, students will find the letter in a variety of fonts.
Next, they practice writing the letter with correct letter formation.
Last, they draw a two picture examples and then write the words.
This book is a great activity to complete during the first month of school to review letter sounds. Students can then keep this book at school as a reference, or take it home to use at home.
This book goes well with my Beginner Handwriting Practice as you can use the videos included to teach letter formation and the student pages for students who need extra practice on a particular letter.
