Description
Writing basic sentences has gone DIGITAL! Basic sentence writing can be a tricky skill, but I’ve got you covered with this scaffolded, Google Slides™ resource that will help you teach your students the basics of sentence writing! Your students will explore the aspects of simple sentences that can often cause hang ups for new readers and writers in a gradual release, step by step, manner that will ensure they can successfully write a sentence that includes capitalization, punctuation, and proper spacing. This resource is perfect for distance learning, homeschooling, or classroom use.
This pack is included in my K-2 Writing Curriculum. Click here to view the entire curriculum.
There are 5 different activities included in this resource, so it works well for a week long lesson. Learning pages as well as student pages with moveable pieces are included.
1. Letters, Words, and Sentences: Oh My!
2. Capitals and Periods
3. Spencer the Spacer
4. I Can Build a Sentence
5. I Can Make My Own Sentence
All student pages are equipped with “read to me audio” which works on laptops and PC tablets. This allows students to be more independent as they complete each activity. Students simply click on the audio symbol and they can listen to the directions or other words on each page. If for some reason you’d prefer the audio to not be available to your students, perhaps for differentiation purposes, you can easily remove it.
Please note that as of June 2020, audio does not function on iPads as the GoogleSlides iPad app does not yet have this feature. However, this resource can easily be used without the audio function.
